In this issue: A lovely free design and Silk ribbon embroidery on hand-felted backgrounds
Anybody seen the sun?
Greetings from a cold, rainy, misty Cape Town. I am sure that most Capetonians and all of its creatures have forgotten what the sun looks like. Cannot wait for spring!

One good thing about this kind of weather: embroidery makes up for it... and I have been very busy with new concepts, preparing for workshops in Dubai and Kiev in October and uploading new kits to my website... I am so happy to welcome Lee van Munster to Crafts Unlimited. Lee will be helping me with the layout and instructions and all the tasks that I so desperately need assistance with. Thank you Lee and I hope you will be very happy working with the team :)

I keep my silk ribbons inside this Hussif but it could hold threads, scissors and needles... also perfect for jewellery and other precious belongings.

Three-dimensional silk ribbon roses on a lustrous hand-felted background. The background is hand made from African wool and mohair and rich silk fibres have been added with wonderful results. Size of felted sampler: 25 x 34 cm (10 x 13.4 inches.) Turn the sampler into a cushion, use it as a cover for an album or memory box... or frame it to use as an interesting piece of art on your wall.
