Stranded silk threads complement the silk ribbon beautifully.  Silk thread has a lustrous sheen and enhances the designs most effectively.  I like to use the beautiful Chameleon pure silks in my projects. Other silk manufacturers are Madeira, Au Ver a Soie, Kreinik, Gumnut Yarns, Gloriana, and YLI. Silk blends are available such as those from Rajmahal Art. Silks, and this is what I often use for making beautiful locks of hair. Chameleon silks are also good to embroider hair with.
