Blog > South Africa. Randpark Ridge/ Weltevreden Park, Johannesburg.

Our stockist in Randpark Ridge/ Weltevreden Park, Johannesburg.   Ribbonfields Ribbonfields is a very special shop to me.... Jackie stark took over the shop when I left Johannesburg to settle in Cape Town. Jackie is a lovely person, friendly and always ready to help her customers wherever she can.   Click on the images to enlarge                       Ribbonfields is a special place, set in a beautiful indigenous garden, with Peacocks and guinea fowl often peeping in to see what everyone is up to. Jacqui O’ Connell, one of South Africa’s top embroiderers (especially in the field of silk ribbon embroidery and stumpwork) teaches at Ribbonfields and this is the place to go to for the best cup of tea in town :))                   Their workshops are very popular, so if you are thinking about taking up this wonderful hobby and you live in the North or West of Johannesburg, Ribbonfields is your answer!                 Here you will meet Lisah Merementsi, a gifted embroiderer herself – Lisah worked with me for 16 years and I taught her quilting, appliqué, ribbon embroidery and stumpwork….there is very little that Lisah does not know about needlecrafts – and Katherine (the best tea maker in town) and the friendly group of embroiderers who attend classes most days of the week.   Ribbonfields keeps my entire range of silk and organza ribbons, books, DVDs, and all the printed panels for silk ribbon embroidery, stumpwork and needle painting.
