Ribbon Embroidery and Stumpwork Sampler - written by Di van Niekerk

.

I have something to inspire you today! The talented Jane Ludlow from Kent sent me a picture of the exquisite flower sampler she made as a wedding gift (how lucky is that couple!) and I thought I would show it to you...

.

This sampler is from one of my books titled RES  and has over 30 elements in the sampler. From pansies to Fuchsias, Lilies to Hydrangeas, birds, dragonflies, ladybird...  there is something for everyone and an ideal project for someone wanting to learn how to embroider with ribbon and 3-dimensional elements.

.

Jane wrote: “I would like to say another big thank you for such a lovely kit and book to help me make this RES flower sampler. Sewing it gave me such pleasure in a long winter in the UK, and I looked forward to a couple of hours each day!

I have personalised it slightly as a wedding present, all the flowers have a meaning in Flower Language  however the basic meaning for me is it is stitched with love for the couple marrying and also for my wonderful hobby, and your help Di!

Thank you so very much.
Sincerely and with love.

Jane R. Ludlow

Here is a close-up of some of the panels in her sampler...

I hope this inspires you all to make some time for yourself to stitch this weekend   and thank you, Jane!
 .
Happy weekend!
Love
Di
