Hi everyone! Did you have a good weekend? Today I have some lovely jewellery-making ideas to show you by the talented Ülle Hummal who hails from amazing Estonia in Northern Europe. Ülle contacted me on messenger and sent some pictures of her lovely work and I was intrigued!
Here is one of her beautiful creations…
I asked Ülle to tell me a little about herself and she wrote:
“I made my first ribbon embroidery stitches in 1998 while on a course. It was a nice first “date” but not love at first sight :) Maybe because patchwork took up all my time those days. In 2001 I got my friend Benita Suomi's book “Nauhatanssi- Bandballet” and after that I was motivated to make some small items and brooches for my mother. Finally, I fell in love with this wonderful embroidery technique in 2012 and since then embroidery is very close to my heart. All these magnificent embroideries that I have seen on your FB page and on the internet inspire me every time!
.
I like to make jewellery with ribbon embroidery because it allows me to create very romantic and feminine pieces. Of course, there are beads, lace, and other embroidery stitches, too! Sometimes I simply use all the leftover small ribbon pieces and roses and make a bouquet of flowers in frame. I enjoy the creating process and all my items are made with love and passion!
Thank you for the inspiration and good tutorials!
With love from Estonia”
